55 -Dual Duty True Indigo
It is a high-tenacity corespun thread delivering outstanding sewing performance and maximum durability. During the denim wash process, the thread fades to give each denim garment sewn with Dual Duty True Indigo a truly unique finish.

After sewing, the saturated colour of the thread is washed down during the denim wash process to give a unique faded effect so every denim garment sewn with Coats Dual Duty True Indigo is truly unique. The polyester filament core of Dual Duty True Indigo offers excellent strength and durability, while the long staple cotton wrap ensures excellent sewing performance and protects the core from needle heat.

In the denim world the magic of 'Iro-ochi’ or 'Atari' happens at the wash process, but can also destroy the seams if the sewing thread is inferior quality. This means you get expensive and unsightly repairs after wash. With Dual Duty True Indigo sewing thread you can banish costly after wash repairs and focus on creating high performance iconic denim pieces which will last a lifetime.

56 - Dual Duty Supercotton.
Post dyed cotton garments normally require a 100% cotton sewing thread, but cotton threads have distinct drawbacks compared to corespun threads. These disadvantages include strength, elongation, shrinkage, sewing performance and abrasion resistance.
Dual Duty Supercotton sewing thread is ideal for all 100% cotton post dyed garments. It is a highly engineered hybrid sewing thread designed to give you all the benefits of corespun threads combined with the suitability of use in making post dyed garments. The polyester filament core provides excellent strength and durability, while the higher percentage of long staple cotton wrap ensures optimal dye uptake and “hides” the polyester filament to avoid speckling effect in the sewn seam.
It is an ideal choice for post dyed garments where the garment's final colour is relatively known before the dyeing process. It has a unique corespun construction that gives an enhanced sewing performance and abrasion resistance, even compared to "premium" quality 100% cotton threads.

61 - Linen is one of the oldest textiles in the world.
Coats Linen uses only the highest quality of flax. Consistency is guaranteed by the blending of batches. One of linen's greatest assets is its low extensibility and thus its ability to hold a tight knot in the lockstitch seam; this makes it particularly suitable for welt and other forms of sole sewing. This makes Linen ideal for end uses where no ‘give’ is required. Linen is easily dyed, does not melt and swells when wet.
The natural look of the linen thread seam enhances its aesthetic appearance, making it ideal for traditional and authentic products.  Linen degrades naturally making it an environmentally friendly sewing thread. Knots hold better than synthetic equivalents. Satin finished linen thread has an excellent appearance in stitched leather seams.

We recommend Match for stitching on special machines developed exclusively for moccasins, uppers, Opanka box soles and flat Goodyear soles. It is also an ideal thread for Blake and Rapid sole stitching.

65 - Nylbond.

Coats Nylbond Protect sewing thread is treated with an innovative process to give the finished thread anti-microbial / anti-fungal properties.

The anti-microbial process creates a "zone of inhibition" that prevents the growth of bacteria and pathogens around sewn seams where microbes like to harbour, leaving seam crevices clean and fresh.

The use of this anti-microbial sewing thread will give ongoing enhanced protection in many applications, including protection from mould spores and odour causing bacteria in footwear and sports goods, bacteria in hospital furnishings and medical equipment to microbe stains in leather furniture, plus many more.

Nylbond Protect combines enhanced anti-microbial protection with the advantages of a premium bonded nylon 6.6 thread. The pre-stabilised continuous filament nylon 6.6 plies are bonded to ensure a strong and supple thread with no ply separation to give excellent sewing performance in many applications where maximum tenacity and superior seam abrasion resistance properties are required.

Coats Protect threads meet a number of recognised anti-bacteria and fungi test standards including: AATCC TM90 and ASTM M90 (microbiology activity), ASTM G21 and MIL-Std-810G (fungi), EN/ISO 20743 (anti-bacterial) and the Japanese SEK Blue Label accreditation.
